The online facility provides applicants and students with access to features to manage their applications and/or booking details.
Applications

Housing application
This if for returning students. Applications cycle is announced with opening and closing dates.
Applications access will only be active during that period.
New applications are submitted via PeopleSoft with applications
to study. Current res students intending to pursue postgraduate studies, must also apply for housing with their application for studies.
Application cancellation
This option will only work if a student has already applied and no offer information has been sent.
Housing offer: Accept or Decline
Once offers have been sent to returning applicants or even potential students, applicants can accept
or decline offers here
New students are encouraged to accept or decline offers on PeopleSoft self-service unless instructed otherwise.
Bookings
Late arrival
Once offers have been made and a returning student wishes to arrive a little later after res opening, the student uses this
facility to indicate when they would like to arrive. This can only be for maximum two weeks after opening.
Change meal plan
After registration, once catering residence students have their term timetable and would like to change their meal options.
Students are all assigned three meals for seven days of the week. Those that wish to cancel one of their meals, can do so, only once per semester.

UCT residences
These are university campus owned and managed residences. Accommodation charge is paid as part of Student Fee Account They are mostly within proximity of the campus. All residences are within the campus

UCT leased residences
Given demand of accommodation, the university is leasing rooms on behalf of students from private providers. Rental is charge is part Student Fee Account, while the university pays the provider.
Students will sign a tenancy agreement with the accommodation provider, while the head lease is between the provider and the university. Some providers have their own shuttle, while others are in close proximity to the

Landlord accommodation
Students that could not secure campus accommodation at UCT -or leased- residences and those that wish to live off-campus, do get assisted with private alternative accommodation. Private rentals
within the proximity of campus are listed with straight forward details to make informed decision. Listed accommodation is inspected to ensure that minimum norms and standards set by the Department of Higher Education and
Training are met.
